It's been hard to avoid the news about the new line of digital cameras Sony in these past few months. Leak after leak detected body design, lens, sensor size and other characteristics. They are official now, though, and while I may not be your case study from which rumors have been on and off, I mean, they were primarily for money. New gear looks promising as well.
Let's take a look at the new line of cameras. I'll try to be brief; the mapping specification Chambers typically, drag, and if you want to compare closely on photo gear website will have the whole shebang for you to peruse in their spare time. This is a brief description.
NEX-5N $ 600 and $ 1200 NEX-7 get turning LCD screens and NEX-7 gets new APS-C sensor, 24MP (5N-16MP APS-C). Both now record full 1080p at 60, 30 or 24 fps or 640 × 480 at 30, but no 720 p. 7 Also has a sweet on-board 1024 × 768 OLED Viewfinder, one of the features of the title of the whole line. It also has more manual control on the body: two dials up top for the control of the diaphragm, and so on. In addition to Megapixels the difference is they are mostly the same features feature-wise, though of course these features are more readily available on 7.
If you want a Viewfinder, but don't want to pay big money you can pick up the FDA-EV1S, which seems same specs as 7's, for $ 350. NEX-5N will be available next month and NEX-7 will ship in November.
$ 900 and $ 1400 A60 A65 get 1024 × 768 EVFs as well, and both photograph 24MP. A39 has better burst speed, more autofocus points, high ISO capability, and its LCD is more adjustable. Flash is better, wider and faster. On the body of the A60 is the rear dial (integral element for ProFi) and joystick instead of a circular d pad. It may be a bit too brief, but without going into detail, these are the main differences.
The camera will be available in October.
My opinion? Well, if you insist.
Those are some pretty compelling features. If I wasn't already invested in Canon to configure. .. I had rather not say ... I would jump on them. NEX-5N, though, doesn't seem very convincing to me as a premium model without these top dials or EVF. If he was the only one, it would be more realistic to buy. Like this, I think, NEX-7 can live up to its price of $ 1200. It's too bad that Nice Zeiss lens does more compact, although this is a subtle body to put such a beast of a lens out there.
With regard to SLRs — if you can live without the rear dial and don't use too much on a few points autofocus or flash (i.e. as I shoot), A65, certainly a better buy. You get substantially the same body, the exact same sensor, and 80% of the features of the A39. … and lose four ounces by weight in the deals!
We'll try to get it in our hot little hands for consideration soon. At the same time, I believe that the NEX-7 just became my new object of desire.
