Best buy and Samsung are going to move some more Galaxy tabs on next week. Starting on Sunday, if you buy a top level Samsung 3D HDTV for $ 1500 and $ 2000, you'll also be able to return home with 10.1 Samsung Galaxy tab. So in other words, if you buy the over-hyped HDTV, Best Buy will unload the GalTab on you. Sounds perfect for the buyer, but one week promotion eloquently about the current state of the market, Android tablet.

This step is clever though. Consumers have not been explained on Android tablets, partly because they don't know about them. Beyond our silly little words tablet, the iPad is the single most consumers ever heard of this kit will at least get the Tablet into the hands of slightly different demographic.

Customers can choose either 46-inch and 55-inch Samsung 3D HDTV. Both feature LED backlight, 240 Hz motion and, of course, 3D technology. They are quite pricey options and a lot more than competing TV LG and Panasonic — but you get a free $ 500 tablet with Sammies.

This shows that the best buy and possible producers are beginning to understand that no iPad tablets not easy sale. This happens after best buy changed its computer Division to better feature display and Android tablets. Now they have the same location as the laptops, but it may not be enough to cycle through inventory, fast enough. Retailer reported a massive back-unsold HP touchscreen Tablet only selling 25.000 their 270 000.

Promotion begins this Sunday, August 21 and runs through August 27.

Okay, let's do some HP Lemonade

webosonade

This morning, HP acknowledged failure.

After spending $ 1.2 billion for the acquisition of Palm, they announced that they were killed by the development of all smart phones and tablets running Palm webOS platform — including just launched touchpad. Having survived for only 49 days before his death is tragic, lived only one day longer than relatives often scoffed at Microsoft.

webOS as the platform is not completely dead. HP says they will "continue to explore options for optimizing the value of the webOS, which is really just a fancy way of saying" Yes, we are still not quite sure what the hell, we're going to do with this stuff. "

There is a way here, HP — all thanks to the Google acquisition of Motorola.

You see, Google will certainly surprise $ 12.5 billion buyout of Motorola Android left other Motorola partners (Samsung, HTC, LG, etc) a bit ... shaken. In the blink of an eye Google went from what was essentially a 0% marketshare equipment for its own operating system to the imperious 30%. Anywhere from Google went from being a good guy that builds all of the software for free for something resembling a direct competitor. Google insists that Motorola will operate as a separate unit — but at least they will be able to use the Motorola Android secretly influence hardware ecosystem as a whole.

But where else are the Android other partners contact? Windows phone 7? Great! Allows you to keep throwing money Microsoft licensing. They just completely screw up by sticking with Windows Mobile 6.5 for too long, launched Windows 7 phone too late in the game, while at the same time too early in their own development, inexplicably tried to (and not) to run a platform relatives at the same time, and throwing the key into dickishly mobile world gears, requiring patent licensing money from those who find any success with Android.

Here's your move, HP: fill the gap that Google just stayed open.

1) Open webOS:

Use the webOS source code. Bit webOS are already available under the GPL license, but it's time to open as many others. Perhaps not all, at least not at first, as suddenly exchange the mountain closed again, the source would be a great way to fully bone all existing, is unlikely to be updated webOS devices currently floating around out there

2) give it away. Free Of Charge. But only for those who want to help make it better:

With Android the popularity and free of charge, except for patent licensing price and Windows phone 7 floating around as an alternative to licensing webOS would be difficult to sell. That is why HP needs to just give it away — but only for those who want to improve it. webOS is in many ways, the kind of amazing. Ridiculously simple system alert notification is top notch and he is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful operating systems ever built, but it has its drawbacks. Among other things, it doesn't seem terribly effective; never, it seems that even the Palm you can make the device on which the webOS worked better than the 4-year-old brick, connected with his feet. Besides Palm simply can never provide the resources for the creation of properly from webOS third parties; It doesn't have a lot in the pre-provided the functionality of the front (read: APIs), and that it is there that can really do better documentation.

And that's where trade. Desiring to make significant improvements to webOS? You get webOS! And you get webOS! And you get webOS! Not ready (or don't have the manpower) do to improve? No sweat — you can still license the webOS on the cheap.

The definition of "significant improvement", as well as the definition of "cheap" will have to depend on company size/income, but nothing better than HP, trying to solve only the webOS. Palm in best engineers took off when ransom went down, and HP have never proved herself capable of creating software.

3) promise to never again set foot on Smartphone/tablet arena again:

This part is crucial. Be a provider of software-interference, no competition, that Google has decided that they don't want more. Throw webOS in printers, automobiles, toasters, whatever, but just let the guys who know what they are doing in mobile do their stuff.

4) form the basis for the overall management of the product:

More cooks in the kitchen you can just make things worse, and that is why there should be the basis of the varieties (apart from HP) formed the largest contributors as a guiding hand for the product in the future. Major contributors get to discuss and guide future product. And if you want to build something in the project, which most of the veto? No problem — they just need to build it in their own branch. Think of it, sort of like Nokia (etc.)s Symbian foundation, minus the suck.

He earns HP back $ 1.2 billion, they spent on your Palm? Nope! However, they still Palm in patent Armory show for this. He will score the webOS throne as # 1 and # 2 of the platform in the mobile world? Nope! iOS and Android, locked down for the next few years, and there is very little that could change, but it makes it a viable contender against WP7 for that coveted bronze medal. It also makes a much more viable platform for third-party developers, if only because it will increase the number of purchased webOS devices above ... like, twelve.

HP ends up with the best webOS and they avoid, like they completely destroyed the platform. Partners of the platform — and one with great potential — in exchange for the allocation of human resources, they must highlight if they should examine it first of all, and they get help guide its future for download. Developers get third platform is developing for. (And Yes, in some ways, this makes the licensed webOS more justified patent attacks from all major parties, which have a formal hand in its development.)

This is not a big victory, but it's probably better to go to the HP.

Crunchy Logistics

This is one of the cooler things I've seen in a while. Think Microsoft Surface meets the minorities, less bald lady that predicts the future. This multi-touch Conference table from Orlando-based company called crisp logistics and comes in five different sizes.

LCD/led screen has more than 36 points of touch and uses most of the same multi-touch language, which we are accustomed, as pinch zoom. Size changes are as follows: 55-inch, 65-inch, 70-inch, 130-inch, 150-inch, and the table measures 1.5 inches thick across all models. The table includes interactive games and is compatible with both PC and Mac.

This thing can be very high for any business that requires several people to interact with some data, such as architectural firms, engineers and designers. We're not quite sure about the prices and availability, but you can bet that this case will not be cheap. Then again, it will likely reduce costs in other areas of business, too.

Check out the video after the break.

G300

When it comes to games, the better, the better player. Logitech today announced its next generation series (g) gaming mouse, G300, and if this thing doesn't give you a competitive edge, you need to spend more time practicing. With nine customizable controls, you don't have to use the keyboard at all, means that the control that you would like to be beautiful lies beneath the Palm of your hand.

Because it's ambidextrous, this is the first mouse Logitech without thumb controls. Rightys and leftys can play with the same level of control. G300 mouse allows you to configure up to three different player profiles, too. So let's say you're playing bad company 2 and modern warfare 2 interchangeably. You can set the color to red for one control, and green for another, so that you do not start using controls of modern warfare, when you are playing Bad Company. There are seven different color options.

G300 touts 2500 DPI optical sensor that tracks of slow and fast movements, and the mouse works well on many surfaces. I have to play around with the G300 and believes that it is indeed very comfortably in either hand. Additionally it comes with Optional drag-and-drop software, which not only allows you to customize the mouse G300, but allows you to connect to the other products by Logitech as G-series keyboards and headsets. From there you can configure macros be distributed on all devices.

In terms of price and availability of G300 will go for an MSRP of $ 39.99 and will be available throughout Europe and the United States in September.

Kim Hyon Suk has been busy these past few months. Lawyer, based out of Seoul, it got a bit of notoriety for being the first person to receive cash from Apple for iPhone location tracking trends. He also announced that he and his law firm, Mirae law will be studying the possibility of filing a lawsuit against Apple. According to a report from Bloomberg, with 27 000 Korean claimants on Board that the suit was filed today.

Credit where credit is due, Kim Hyon Suk, definitely has a sense of humor. Web site created his company in July for a helping hand to potential plaintiffs greets visitors with ironic spin on Apple's language: "finally. Real action against Apple. Now available here. "

Mr. Hyon Suk initial payment was 1 million won (approximately $ 930), and the company is looking for the same award for each of the 27 000 affected clients. This news comes hot on the heels of News that Apple was to be fined 3 million ($ 2.808) won the Korea Communications Commission for the collection of data on the location, even when users are disconnected all the relevant characteristics. If this keeps up, Apple may soon look at payment of some serious money as compensation.

Apple solved this costume, rough total compensation is the Korean equivalent of more than 25 million dollars. Considering that Kim Hyun-Suk successfully got its piece of the pie, Apple may be looking at some serious legal manoeuvres to try and get the suit dismissed. In fairness, with more than $ 76 billion in their domestic Treasury settlement costs will be the proverbial drop in the bucket. Nevertheless, expect to see, Apple put up a concerted defense against the claim in the coming weeks.

For a mere $ 50 you too can own a small iPhone controlled helicopter company, which has traditionally been known for selling phone cases.

As Parrot face Griffin branching out its traditional ruler and offering this little dual rotor helicopter, which generally is controlled via IR commands sent through a special key, attached to iPhone. There is a full tilt to Steer as well as the power button on the screen.

The kit allows you to create three pre-recorded flight plans ("Go North, enter the bedroom, while the wife is sleeping, the fall of peeled grapes in her head" is one of my favorite) and charges via USB.

I had terrible luck with IR-controlled helicopters, most recently, I tried returned to the roof because it was clearly wrongly sunlight as a team, well, fly away – but hopefully this inexpensive little flyer will work a little better. Currently available.

Nintendo Wii for prepping slightly reconfigured pre-holiday release. This simple model is positioned horizontally (like a gaming console) instead of vertically, like the original. He is also a bit smaller, lack the capacity for the Gamecube and is likely to be hit at a lower price.

This step is a standard procedure for game developers ever since the original NES. In an attempt to revive sales and take advantage of new, lower prices of equipment game developers will release the "updated" version of the console. Of course this is the last act for this specific system as most of the time its replacement has been announced. In this case, Nintendo announced a Wii U at E3 2010.

The Wii has a stellar run. In a sense he relit the excitement around the games, and has taught the senior generation increased flexibility and have fun. The Wii was released in November 2006 and since then has sold more than 87 million units, which puts him on top for popular gaming console of all time. An updated Wii only is an official UK right now. But Nintendo is not traditionally outside of new equipment for only one region. Most likely this is a smaller, more PETITE Wii rather soon will hit around the world. In a strange twist front part modified Wii rather similar to the front fascia, running Wii u. Apple, it's time for a block of iOS 5 Beta users from the revision of the annexes

ios 5 reviews 2

Yes, each new ad iOS – very ... bittersweet. We love it, because it means new APIs for us to develop fixes for the things we were around, and, ideally, more people buy the platform we are building for. But then we months get spend slammed bad reviews, all written by people who just don't understand: before the release goes gold, beta specific errors are is not our fault. "— the developer, who asked not to be named.

Last night, our sister site TUAW (this is still a kind of strange to write that) posted by PSA. The message was simple: If you're not a developer, but you ignored warning signs and ' its way into provisional iOS 5 Beta, you need to stop. Why? Because people crushing developers with horribly unfair feedback, sinking their oh so important rankings of errors they couldn't possibly have prepared for.

The overall message was fair enough, but their proposed solution is to tell developers not Disabling download iOS 5 — can never work. But there is a solution (quite simple, actually), which would be: just don't let the people running things review of beta versions of iOS.

You see, not to tell people to download IOS 5 Beta, as the world's most delicious cookies in a jar labeled "AWESOME people only, and then tell your child they can have one if they promise that they indeed are an awesome person. Everyone wanted to put on their awesome shirts and their awesome hat, walking to the Bank handles with the hand extended. And why not? Nobody really checks just how awesome the self-proclaimed awesome people — plus, the definition of "awesome" (read: the definition of "Developer") it is somewhat loose.

It's just the way it works: we as a population, rather self-entitled. When something new becomes available for a small group and other outside this group are aware of it, they will try to find a way to get it (in this case, it usually means buying a developer from someone selling their extra space for profit that.) Apple could theoretically kill this gray market fully open access a beta version of iOS for those who are willing to jump through some hoops and cancel some rights — but this is a post for another day.

It seems there are at least two ways to fix this, one is a bit easier than others:

1) Block people running iOS 5 from consideration any applications they've downloaded on iOS 5 (difficult route): Apple knows what applications you have downloaded — if they didn't, they could not show you the history of all purchases (like they do in later builds of the App Store). Why not discover what users version working, when booting, the store is a bit of information in the database, and then block them to consider the application to the new OS has officially launched for all?

They account for applications that were installed with sync has backups — but while it is not trivial, it seems that this is possible. Apple already detects installed applications for other reasons (for example, replace the "Download" button is grayed out and read "installed")

2) Simply block any iOS 5 from the revision of the annex (easier): just as above, but after the discovery of an iTunes account be running iOS Beta 5 this account temporarily blocked all together, review the application whether the applications were loaded to iOS 5 or not.

This route is a bit clunkier, but it's also a bit simpler to implement and easier on the servers of apples, as it does not require additional call a database for each user for each application. It is also slightly less complicated in terms of privacy, because there are fewer message back to the mothership.

Sound harsh? This is possible. But it comes with the territory: the pre beta not intended for daily use (even for developers, Apple recommends that only the beta version on devices dedicated to testing.) If you are not a developer and would like to tinker, hell, I wouldn't try to stop you: you just have to hold your rants, until it would be wise to do otherwise.

Probably there will be some libel open outcry that Apple somehow blocking freedom of expression — which, of course, is not really here. These reviewers beta hungry jumping on their soap box without any understanding of why things don't work and maliciously affect survival of developers — many of which, like most of us are just some dudes looking to ditch the cubicle and do something cool for life.

Started by Steve jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, Apple has expanded from computers to consumer electronics over the past 30 years, officially change their name from Apple Computer.

Red Hat CEO at LinuxCon: I have no idea what will happen next

linw

Jim Whitehurst, CEO of Red Hat, just made a terrific opening keynote presentations for LinuxCon. Whitehurst is not just a businessman, he is also a geek. He used prior to joining Red Hat Linux and open source, and the opportunity to be the CEO of the company the most successful open source software in the world was a dream come true for him. After a quick summary of some of the major Linux milestones seen over the past 20 years, he jumped in the heart of his keynote: what's next? Whitehurst wasted no time in answering this question: "I don't know."

This somewhat unusual response from the Director-General, but it makes sense for anyone even moderately familiar with Linux. Linux has witnessed so many growth markets so much that it's almost silly to try to make predictions about what's next for Linux. (Indeed, the Linux Foundation's Jim Zemlin has been saying "this is the year of the Linux desktop" in the past four years!)

However, he had some concerns about the fact that the OS and ecosystems may soon turn. Here is a brief overview of some of the most important items of Whitehurst's presentation:

Linux is a transformational technology. "Linux Technology gives the achievements and innovations that have nothing to do with Linux". I.e., Linux supports the development of new business models and new technologies.

The freedom to use Linux for any purpose, without fee, has raised many of the things we now take for granted: Amazon, Facebook, Google. Can any of them have been successful insofar as they are if they are required to purchase expensive proprietary software before they rolled out their products?

In addition, Linux allows a rapid and low cost prototyping, making it easier to innovate and to evaluate what works and what doesn't. According to Whitehurst "when you're looking for innovation, you're looking for what is happening in open source."

Linux has gone from catch-up for commoditizing existing innovations in flexible, open path and now go to leading innovation. Leading innovation today occur in open source first and then the large companies are working to ensure that innovation for yourself. Hadoop, Cassandra, etc. are examples of open source innovation, which are now warmly supported by large companies.

Another striking example of this kind of innovation-all your favourite term, "The Cloud". Why is it that there is no single, solid definition of clouds? That's because not one company or supplier smashed it, so they don't get to contextualize it. Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PAAS) and other large, complex technology does not have a small group of drivers. Rather, they arose from a larger number of technical professionals working together.

Open source development model, used by Linux have seen some wonderful and in some cases ironic, cooperation. United States NAVY, for example, was in need of a kernel real-time deterministic characteristics in order to develop anti-missile technology for their fleet. Linux does not have such a kernel, so the Navy contributed to it. Directly benefited from Wall Street, where 80 percent of all stock markets rely on Linux and real-time kernel for trade.

National Security Agency wrote Linux security enhancement extensions that are currently the most important part of Red Hat and some other distributions. The work done by the NSA did it so safe that Linux is now the most secure operating system, certified by the Russian Government.

Open source ethos runs deep. Whitehurst said he had had with Facebook in a recent conversation Technical Director, in which he was asked "why do you guys release so much of your infrastructure work for free, when you know your competitors are going to use it, too?" answer: it is a moral issue. They believe that to make the world a better place for all contributors and competitors alike. If they can make someone else in the data center more efficient, or more reliable, it is incumbent upon them to do so.

Whitehurst ended with the observation that the principles of mass collaboration will change the world.

PlayStation

Beware! Price cuts all around! After the fall of prices 3DS Sony just cut a cool $ 50 from the PS3, dropping 160 GB model to $ 250-$ 300. 320 GB model is also slightly lower, now with a price tag of $ 299.

This puts the PS3 in a couple of better position ahead of the oh so important holiday season. The Wii is currently priced at $ 150 and comes bundled with Mario Kart. The basic model of the Xbox sells for $ 200 or $ 300 with Kinect. Suddenly the PS3 looks much more attractive.

Unfortunately love fall in prices does not apply to European players. Of course the price fell there too, but only up to € 249, which works out to $ 359 USD. This is similar, but not as harsh story in Japan, where the system falls to 24.980 yen, or $ 325 United States dollars.

Sony strives for Microsoft for some time. Xbox 360 is on a seven-month streak be popular console, month after month. Kinect receives user base in the past year, and the effect seems to still hold true. It is the dominance of Microsoft may not respond in kind and with the fall of the 360 price monitor.

Matt Richardson created the wild Arduino system which turns off the Tv whenever the name or key word is broadcast on television. It uses a closed caption tracks and an IR Blaster to grab what's currently playing and then turn off the Tv for 30 seconds – and more – depending on the current section.

The project uses video experimenter shield, Lady ADA tutorial IR and some basic code to verify the signature for keywords.

Best of all is that the product actually works pretty well, turn off the TV as soon as Kim Kardashian is mentioned even in passing. It can do for the project a great election year for people who may or may not be for some politicians.

Nintendo has sparked a surge in the world of video games, when he announced the price slash the 3DS in Japan, the United States and other countries at 30-40% (depending on country) – only a few months after the system went on sale.

And now we have the first equipment sales numbers from Japan, and it looks like casual gaming on social networks, increase freemium and all these apps for free/inexpensive Smartphone made consumers more price sensitive in recent years.

According to the video game magazine publisher Enterbrain Nintendo managed to sell a whopping 215 000 units 3DS 8 and 14 August. Price drop (from 25 000 yen to 15 000 yen) entered into force on 11 August (but quite a few shops in Japan actually taken several days earlier).

For comparison: Nintendo's Japan shipped more than 350 000 units a week after launch (and approximately 200 000 a week afterwards), means falling prices caused a sort of second beginning in that country to the system (in may, for example, only 109 000 3DS were sold on the domestic market).

A total of 1.5 million 3DS systems were sold in Japan so far.

Samsung's pants are officially set ablaze as reports surfaced of Samsung learned about Apple's injunction complaints and even filed "Schutzschrift". In English it is protective of the pleadings, and it was made almost a week before Apple filed its ban on 4 August.

However, I seem to recall the Samsung talk "was filed the request for injunction without notice for Samsung, and the order was issued without hearing or evidence from Samsung. Hmmm. So either Samsung lawyers prescient or Samsung PR team fibbed it up. My money is on the latter.

It is true that Samsung has not been officially notified and that there is no hearing in which Samsung could protect themselves, however, suggests that he was totally blind-sided, injunction, when in fact it works to stop the proactive decision almost a week in advance.

FOSS patents blogger and IP German expert Florian Mueller, who also reported on the story, sums up the cheating perfectly: "such a communication strategy on Samsung's part is the old-school spin doctoring and only serves to strengthen my impression is that Samsung's legally vulnerable against Apple. If Samsung wants to inspire confidence, it must understand that half the truth sometimes is all lies. "

As part of its "Schutzschrift", filed on 29 July, the Samsung claimed that there was no sense of urgency, which requires a preliminary injunction. The problem with this argument is between the urgency of not more than once possibly patent infringing product is going to run. The second argument, the Samsung fault was that the company is in the process of "preparing" petition have Apple community design invalid.

The Court in Düsseldorf made its decision to ban GalTab from Samsung in protective pleading in mind, which means that Samsung will have to invent some new arguments for his appeal on 25 August. It is clear that the issues raised in its proactive fault in any way affect the Court's decision.

Looking at the device from HP, cars to grow and maintain webOS

webos

HP from the outset stated that she plans to enter a webOS more than smartphones and tablets. He saw time run webOS printers, netbooks and peace! Well the time has come. HP seeks to grow and expand in webOS world major appliances and automotive.

HP invested $ 1.2 billion in Palm last year and from the perspective of an outsider, it was difficult to watch, as a wise investment, even when considering 1500 patents that were part of the deal. The main product, webOS touchpad, floundering in the market. Spotting webOS smartphones in the wild is akin to seeing mg using Xoom. WebOS is a fine operating system, but consumers are simply not latched on for various reasons. HP now looks outside the traditional scope of CE.

Part of the fall of the OPERATING SYSTEM is that the products do not have a dev or third-party support. Smartphone should have a solid set of native apps to webOS, but it must then be even more robust ecosystem of 3rd party applications. That's what makes the iOS is so popular: Apple handles routine tasks that are usually associated with the phone while he finds all the fun and innovative stuff devs App Store. Without such support, with support from mouth to mouth marketing awesome OS like webOS has no chance.

And so looks HP put webOS into non-traditional products. The WSJ says that he looks in the automotive and appliance sector for a bit. Thought, which is smart, is to license their webOS companies without their own touch-sensitive interface. Hope that happened that one day, washer, stove, or even car Infotainment system will work on webOS. Of course Android is lurking in the corner, but the last patent litigation and licensing battles makes it look like a dirty alternative.

Unfortunately for HP, as are the WSJ, peace will not take more touch screen interface. Washing machines and have more life than a Smartphone. What's hot today, there will be hot in ten years, let alone five. Appliances are built for reliability, not apps.

HP may be a little more luck in the automotive sector. Microsoft is currently a great player with Microsoft Auto platform for many automotive applications, such as the Ford Sync. In-car entertainment system are ripe for collapse. Only a few of them really worth their price.

This is the correct path for HP and webOS, though. The company needs to grow the brand and exploring other webOS space can be rough, but smart course. You can bet that HP did not die without a fight is going to allow investment of $ 1 billion. Touch is just the beginning. WebOS is here to stay, even if no one buys the goods.

HTC-Puccini-ATT-Image_thumb

HTC prepping his first cellphone release tab. Previous rumors put Puccini, hitting shelves sometime in late August or early September. This seems a little more likely, according to a new report that States "Late Q3 or early Q4. But the question remains, does the market need another mobile tablet, even one as powerful as Puccini, where the ice cream sandwich is right around the corner?

The pill does not seem to be a priority at HTC and for good reason: nobody buys Android tablets. Earlier this year, the company launched its first tablet, Android 2.2 HTC leaflets when other companies, where the beginning of the cell tab. The brochure is an interesting piece, plate 7-inch Android 2.x $ 499 with Optional $ 80 stylus. The high price and the list of cheap components, the flyer, which is a high margin, low-volume product for HTC, one probably intended to test the waters without forcing HTC to immerse themselves in the head. Puccini may be more of the same.

Puccini is not yet official, HTC has teased any information about the tablet. However, a few leaks to state that a 10-incher packaging 1.5 GHz processor and dual-core pedigree Snapdragon. He wants to have 2 GB of RAM, active pen, dual cams, including directed 8MP camera, and if other rumors be considered AT&T LTE radio. Most likely, it will follow the "me too" price chart and hit the market at $ 499 to compete with the iPad. It's just too bad that the iPad not Puccini competition, but rather the other tabs in the honeycomb and soon, ice cream sandwich.

Hundred is a world destroyed by fairy tales, right now. The stock OS and applications are fine, but there are only a handful of useful apps even now, six months after the start of the OS. Ice cream sandwich promises to, incorrectly, that a single Android experience for the end user and developer. And so, it is quite curious why HTC is pushing its first Android 3. x tab for retailers at the end of the cells in the life cycle. According to the operating system is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2011, or rather only after Puccini hits the market.

Only likely to conclude that the above-mentioned difficulties is that Yes, the pills are not a priority for the HTC. Market timing and positioning is paramount to success and Puccini will be self-defeating.

With € 99 price tag, Sony clearly Gunning for budget gamers, though those who live in Europe: while the E-1000 is about to launch this fall in the EU, there's no word that the deal would make portable prices its way anywhere else.

E-1000 takes most of its design cues from old models, PSPs and with this comes the inclusion of the UMD drive. During a press conference at Gamescom in Cologne Conference game, Sony announced several new features for their new game console, Vita (watch our hands-on E3 here). Among them were support for Foursquare and Skype. References were made during a conversation on the 3 G model, $ 300, but it does not imply that a 3 G connection.

More powerful than most phones and sport big, bright touch screen and dual camera, Vita should be able to handle these services perfectly. There is no demonstration and no screenshots, however, so the user interface is still a mystery.

It was also unclear whether it will integrate with Vita in other, more system-wide social tools. Sony has a list of system-wide voice chat and friends and Twitter is already integrated to some extent, but these new services can also enter the game. Become Mayor in the game can become a new source of points for drug addicts.

In addition to the announcement it was confirmed that all Vita games will download. This is a compelling way, but it is likely that users are going to free space, considering this is a true AAA games probably clocking in at several concerts, and solid-state storage quickly enough to load assets not cheap. But an unconditional promise downloadability one smart enough to do is very "next-gen."

Vita will be hitting the market in United States, after some time in early 2012, although it may be able to import one from Japan for the holidays — if you're filthy rich.

ipad2-vs-samsung-galaxy-tab

Hope you got some popcorn and a book of German law at the ready because this back and forth between Apple and Samsung just gets better and better. Today, the preliminary injunction, banning sales of Samsung's Galaxy in tab 10.1 EU was partially lifted. Now before you go to the same conclusions as I did, let me say that this suspension has nothing to do with false evidence, discovered yesterday in Apple's complaint. At least it's not the reason for the Düsseldorf Regional Court to lift.

Instead, the representative of the Court stated that the issues of whether the German court has the right to prohibit the company based in South Korea from the sale of its products throughout the European Union, reported the Wall Street Journal. Suspension of the ban is only valid until 25 August appeal hearing in the course of which Samsung will present its argument to reverse the original decision. Unfortunately, things did not change much for German clients-ban continues in Germany. In the rest of Europe will be able to capture the GalTab, until he comes through the Korean parent company, but Samsung Germany group would still be prohibited from selling the device throughout the EU.

According to the FOSS patents patent infringement cases must be handled by each European country, whereas intellectual property rights and trademarks, may be issued by the European Union. These IP rights may then be applied in its entirety to the EU, as in the case of Apple. Apple's original complaint was based on their own rights, intellectual property 003781832 of the design community, which you can find after the break.

The German judicial system are usually more meat aside from the copyright owner than the alleged perpetrator, so Apple already knew that it was a very good chance to win this prohibition. Because his complaint was based on the IP rights granted to EU Agency (not a patent issued by the national patent office), Apple also knew that the ban be achieved outside Germany for the entire EU. In fact, the company only excluded the Netherlands because he was even more extensive case there to submit in mid-September.

The problem with partners: fake VisualHub upgrade aims to make Bank on Unsupported software

Screen Shot 2011-08-16 at 9.43.26 AM

Tyler Loch creator VisualHub, one of the best (and funny) video converters for OS X it is closed for a few years ago and left the application to be delayed and then shut it down completely, forcing people to scour the Internet for copies. Several versions of OS X have come and gone and still worked, but the lion killed the app to users sufficiently completely.

I am a former client and VisualHub bought it reseller Kagi Tyler, when he was still available. Today I received an email informing me that I could update the VisualHub to work with Leo for a mere $ 5. Glad that the application was supported by the again, I soon discovered that Tyler was not part of this update and to the point that Kagi VisualHub spam list in order to lift a bit more money from the product.

Here's Tyler's side of the story:

We use Kagi as our official dealer for all Techspansion sales. We had a good working relationship for years, Techspansion.

Although the VisualHub were not offered for sale in years, I thought it would be a nice gesture to correct some of the issues that caused it to fail on Mac OS X lion.
I quietly released some replacement parts free of charge at techspansion.com a month ago for people who still use VisualHub and AudialHub.

Last night, former client email me very confused. He received an e-mail message from Kagi about Lion updates VisualHub. For $ 4.99.
Then it was My father-in-law, asking if I'm going back to business, and just forgot to mention it in his ...

More and more friends, relatives and former clients have begun to treat my wife and I last night, wondering what was going on.
We began to understand that our entire client base (or close to it) contacted the advertising for the updating of the $ 5 "vHub", something I've never participated, which touts the company's name and the name of our software is front and Center.

Although the FFmpeg and inner workings of my open-source (FilmRedux, ReduxZero, etc.), VisualHub as it exists in the world, is not. I gave permission and were not familiar with Kagi hosting, redeployment and indirectly sell components that I wrote in their product.

And I definitely do not (and never will) use contact information for my company clients to obtain a business like this.

So here's the gist of it:
A reliable business partner selects my copyrighted code.
…Packages and makes it available through the updater ...
…Offers for sale ...
…And mass email my customers about it.

Frankly I'm very disappointed with this whole situation.
I am in contact with the wish to see how we can solve this problem.

Firstly you can get update Leo here for free, and secondly, this is probably the most egregious examples of blackmailware, I've seen in a long time. vHub update is, in short, simple installation, built around Tyler's patch. In a note to Seidman LON Kagi's CEO Kee Nethery accused Tyler to "walk out of business" and said that his clients were confused by it burdensome requirements. TUAW says:

In connection with VisualHub as developer Tyler Loch was halted his app, Kagi indicated users Loch in patch instructions on Techspansion. Despite the fact that efforts to fix the app is minimal process showing the app package contents and replace the three script files clearly goes beyond the "comfort level" many users from using Kagi.

There is also some doubt that the application is a product of Kagi. A quick search shows that the update "site" (vhub .biz) appointed Nethery Ki.

We can clearly assume that Kagi will be glad to unpack and sell almost anything at the moment, including OS X updates. It is an open market, people, and if you Kagi, you know that there's a sucker born every minute.

Last week Apple patent brawl takes a serious turn-Samsung after Apple got a preliminary injunction prohibiting the sale of 10.1 tab galaxies throughout the European Union, with the exception of the Netherlands. As we have already pointed out, Samsung had no idea all this is going to issue an injunction, as is standard procedure in the German judicial system. South Korea-company knew they probably would have mentioned that evidence Apple is used to obtain the import (pictured left) ban was quite serious shortcomings.

According to Dutch IDG publication from the Webwereld. nl image used for side-by-side comparison between the iPad and 2 GalTab 10.1 is either incorrect or manipulated. On page 28 of Apple filing cropped image of the Galaxy and the ratio of the image tab 10.1 have been tampered with. Samsung tablet measures at 10.1 in x 6.9 in x 0.34 in, and the size of the iPad sports 2 in x 9.5 in x 34 7.31. in.

So if you looked at the pill-parallel (both in portrait position), you would notice that the iPad 2 is a little broader from side to side, but shorter in length. Based on the specified dimensions, proportions GalTab to 1.46. In Apple's evidence the image aspect ratio 1.36 (8 percent wider than it should be) making 10.1 's Galaxy "appearance tab" Watch "virtually identical" to the iPad 2 (which has the aspect ratio of 1.30). And this is precisely the language of the Apple in his complaint, also on page 28.

We've seen our fair share of counsel screw-ups lately, but it's pretty shady, no? The current ban on the import of the GalTab entirely due to the design, so the Court really judging these books by their covers. Introducing evidence that falsely represents the appearance of the product — especially when the injunction was based solely on hardware design is incredibly suspect, to say the least. Add to this the fact that Apple has some serious time with the judge, in providing this evidence. In the meantime, Samsung did not even have the opportunity to challenge image.

Whether or not intentional deception, "and the truth" of evidence is required in the German judicial system. On the surface it doesn't look good for Apple. It's quite possible that the image that they used GalTab is outdated preview image. Despite the fact that false testimony was presented at all makes Apple look sneaky or weak. Snweaky. In addition, this error can affect the outcome of the case, according to PC World interview with Florian Mueller, a German IP consultatnt.

Nestled in the 290 miles northeast of San Francisco, Allen Telescope array does not hold because budget cuts forced the SETI Institute off site in April of last year. Rather than continue the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, 42 radio telescopes array now dot the landscape of how strange the ruins of the lost civilization.

It was, at least until the SETI Institute announced that due to their recent fund-raising efforts, ATA will get new life next month.

Thanks to the initiative of the Institute of SETIStars, with names like Jodie Foster and Apollo astronaut Bill Anders was raised $ 200000 popping up in the list of donors. An unspecified amount of money will also be presented in United States AIR FORCE, a few months worth of E.T. search must deal to go through.

This promising restart SETI, but there is no guarantee that the array will continue to work. The object is worth an average of $ 1.5 million to operate each year, with most of its funding from Government sources. The Institute had already shown that he has few friends with deep pockets, but the future seems shaky passing array of 2011.

Fan as I am of all things relating to outer space (and how someone saw contacts in more than 12 times), I hope that they manage to stick to the stars for their collective ears as long as they can. Search for extraterrestrial life may seem baseless to some, but guess what day it would be if these radio telescopes has something worth listening to. Unfortunately the financial reality of the situation means that drug addicts could be allocated space to take what we can get.

Analysts and pundits predict the iPad 3 at the end of the 2011 run for some time now, but if the invoices from suppliers in Asia are to be believed, there's just no way that will happen is if the rumors about the high-dpi screen at first are correct (and we think they are).

9.7 Display sports a 2048 × 1536 pixels, four times more than the current iPad and three times more than the HD displays many Android tablets, it's just at the limit of the LCD Panel technology. Apple previously had hoped to have at least five or six million units by the end of the year and placed orders in this regard, but Digitimes reports that these orders have disappeared.

Chatter around the water cooler display industry is that the sharp is the only company capable of making these panels with any real credibility; Samsung and LG, apparently could not achieve a good yield. If these companies want to throw money, they could invest despite poor harvests, as Microsoft has done in order to bring the Xbox 360 on the market early, but we all know how that turned out. Samsung actually demonstrated an alternative type of high-resolution display, but is unlikely Apple will use it, even if it was ready for the market.

These screens will be among the highest performing in the world, but should be made millions at relatively low cost. Apple does not make your own displays (among other things), so it is dependent on the OEM as Sharp. And if Sharp said "If someone could do it, we could — but we can't," that Apple has no choice but to take that hit and delay product.

Meanwhile, the same sources estimate 30 million iPad 2s will be mailed in 2Q11; without the "rare" parts, they can be made as fast as millions of hands in the cities of the huge factory you can put them together.

Of course, he must say that a product that is not strictly speaking a delay. And I'm sure that Apple was prepared for this situation is likely to keep working with Sharp, which yields simply cannot hit targets in time. So: the revised launch schedule. January, anyone?
