Sony and LG end dispute over patent licensing deals, ink

We have a number of posts in recent months, covering patent dispute between LG and Sony over four functions associated with Blu-ray is PS3. Claims affected sales of the console in the United States and Europe this spring and they came right after Sony sued for patent infringement (for mobile phones) against LG International Trade Commission of the United States at the end of 2010.

But today, both companies announced the all good now: LG and Sony settled a total of 24 patent infringement lawsuits with TVs, Blu-ray technology and cellular phones. According to Reuters Sony and LG also signed in the mode of cross-licensing which covers all the devices (such transactions is often the end game in this kind of controversy and allows the parties concerned to use patents to each other without paying taxes).
