I reviewed the SteelSeries Xai early last year, pronouncing this elegant and efficient. I still would recommend this today, except that the new and improved version has just been announced: Sensei. Simple and convenient design Shai intact, but there is a new metal surface (which has yet to prove itself; the old surface was great), custom lighting and some changes under the hood.

A new processor-mouse (which they observe fast as 1994 's Pentiums) allows for increased sensitivity, collation and processing of the laser sensor, up to 12 000 frames per second. Yes, this is probably overkill, but it is a quad-core i7 when checking e-mail. The new engine should improve tracking accuracy, especially for high CPI users like me whose mouse rarely moves less than an inch in 4000 points of intersection of display space.

Lighting was updated as well — you can now display a scroll wheel, high/low light sensitivity and logo with different colors. I suspect there will be plenty of flag regimens are distributed.

Below you will find the same mouse sensitivity and profile manager of the last few mice. Again, too, but it's nice to have. The overall design has not changed, although I must say I am sad to see the classic rough SteelSeries finish go.

We will definitely put this one through their paces. You can pick one up myself in September for $ 90 or 90 euros. Head over to SteelSeries for more information.
